The Story We Leave™
This is for THIS moment in your life
when you realize memories won’t always be there…
This is for you if…
-
You have things you’ve never said out loud
-
You don’t want memories to disappear with time
-
You want your story told in your own words
-
Someone you love is aging, ill, or changing
Before memories fade, stories can still be told!
What is it and why it matters.
Everyone has a story. But not everyone knows how to tell it.
Most people want to leave something meaningful behind for their family — a message, a memory, a truth that deserves to be carried forward.
But when they sit down to write, they freeze.
That’s where The Story We Leave™ comes in.
It’s an experience.
A safe, compassionate process that turns memories, moments, and life lessons into a legacy
What The Story We Leave™ Actually Is
It's a personal experience where you complete the journal in a small-group experience that helps individuals reflect,
or
a one-on-one experience with a facilitator or on your own with prompts.
Note from the founder:
"The Story We Leave began after I completed my husband’s manuscript after he passed away. That experience showed me how easily a life story can disappear if it isn’t written down."
Why a Guide HELPS
Anyone can hand out a journal.
Not everyone can:
-create emotional safety or ask the right questions at the right moment or
-help someone talk about difficult memories
-capture meaning in ordinary moments
-guide a life story without overwhelming the person.
A trained facilitator makes the difference between:
“I don’t know where to start…”
and
“I finally said the things I’ve always wanted to say.”
This is why certification is valuable.
Facilitators learn how to hold space, guide gently, and help people express the stories that matter most.
TSWL is not a writing assignment.
It is a relationship — a space where someone’s life is honored, witnessed, and preserved.
Your story becomes:
a gift
a message
a memory
a piece of love that remains
It’s about being known by the people who love you.
