Every community is filled with remarkable people whose stories

deserve to be remembered.

Unfortunately, many of those stories are lost simply because no one took the time to ask.

The Legacy Across Generations™ program brings students and older adults together through guided conversations and legacy journaling. By pairing trained Teen Legacy Facilitators™ with older adults, communities create meaningful relationships while preserving priceless memories for future generations.

This program benefits everyone involved—students gain valuable life skills, older adults experience the joy of being heard, and families receive a treasured keepsake that can be passed down for generations.

How the Program Works

Step One

Students complete the Teen Legacy Facilitator™ training provided by The Story We Leave™.

Step Two

Partner organizations identify participants who would enjoy sharing their life stories.

Step Three

Students meet with participants over a series of scheduled sessions to help complete a legacy journal.

Step Four

Participants receive a completed journal that becomes a treasured keepsake for themselves and their families.

(Optional connections are available, such as phone, Zoom, email, &USPS mail.)
